ABOUT THE CUT LIST
A Mark Cuban Company
Backed by Mark Cuban and built to make great products, businesses, and experiences findable on merit.
A Mark Cuban Company
The Cut List helps people quickly find three great picks, from products to local food and experiences. We’re backed by entrepreneur Mark Cuban and built for trust. No affiliates. No pay-to-play. No commissions when you buy. Our editorial picks are earned, not bought, and advertising never determines selection.
What we’re building
Discovery on the internet has become noisy, biased, and distorted by money. We keep it simple. Each category is reduced to three great picks, chosen through research and informed by people who know the space. Quality, value, and innovation matter more than spend or scale.
We use AI to listen at scale to consumers, brands, and experts, always with human editorial oversight. Instead of recalculating rankings millions of times a month, we publish durable reference points that improve over time as more insight is added. Human judgment comes first. AI acts as a force multiplier.
Innovation Legacy
The Cut List is built by a team with a long history of challenging entrenched systems and building direct, merit-based alternatives.
Shark Tank investment (2011): Mark Cuban invested in Tower Paddle Boards.
Growth & recognition: #1 Fastest-Growing Private Company in San Diego (2014); INC 500 (2015).
Documented strategy: Harvard Business School case study, Selling on Amazon at Tower Paddle Boards.
Category innovation: Pioneered 6-inch inflatable iSUPs, named among Inc.’s “10 Most Impressive Products in America.”
Work-time rethink: Our 5-Hour Workday book and experiment sparked a global conversation on productivity.
That experience informs how The Cut List is built: simple systems, transparent rules, and incentives aligned with quality.
What this means for brands
If your listing earns one of the three great picks, you receive a free editorial placement. Brands can optionally enhance earned placements with Ad-hancements such as Photo Upgrades, AEO+ Listings, or Category Sponsorships.
Because we publish only three picks per category, some strong listings are left out. Promoted Options give confident brands a way to be part of the conversation, always clearly labeled and separate from editorial selections.
